60th Anniversary- Celebrate With Us!

On June 12, 2023, the Evers Family Legacy will honor and celebrate the life and legacy of Medgar Wiley Evers on the 60th anniversary of his assassination. Each year since his assassination, people from across the state of Mississippi and country have joined us in commemorating the occasion and recognizing his significant contributions to advancing civil rights.  His brother, James Charles Evers, was instrumental in coordinating these efforts by hosting an annual homecoming celebration where celebrities, dignitaries, and every day citizens from across the country came to Mississippi for a weekend honoring Medgar. 

As we look ahead to the 60th anniversary and beyond, we remain dedicated to the justice, equality, and service while emphasizing importance voter registration and education.
