Evers Family Legacy Foundation

About

This organization was established after the passing of our grandfather, James Charles Evers, with the goal of highlighting the contributions and sacrifices of Medgar Wiley Evers and the Evers family by continuing their legacy of justice, equality, and service.
We believe that every generation should be aware of the significant role he and the family played in securing civil and voting rights for all Americans. It is our mission to build on their rich legacy of service by working to advance voter registration, education, and participation while recognizing the importance of assisting the community with getting their basic needs met. We are committed to ensuring that the Evers legacy thrives forever.

In the News

Over the years, we have had opportunities to contribute to important conversations regarding voting rights, gun violence, and racism and how we move forward. We are have been featured in Glamour Magazine, AirMail, NextTribe, and on the 48 Hours Presidential Inauguration Special for President Barack Obama. In 2020, we worked with national organization, MarchOn Voter Protection Corps, to establish the Evers Family Legacy Voter Registration Training to educate voters in several battleground states of the laws regarding voting their respective states. We also spoke at the MarchOn for Voting Rights commemoration march of the 58th March On Washington in Atlanta, GA.
